Mediation is a process that provides for the intervention of acceptable, impartial third party(ies) who assist the contesting parties in reaching a mutually acceptable settlement of their differences by helping them define the issues and by guiding the communication process.
The mediator is not a judge and will not decide the outcome of the dispute. Mediators are neutral. The parties themselves reach a decision aided by suggestions and options developed in conjunction with the mediator.
